The Ultimate Wedding Message Introduction

Today, we conclude our message series “Living in Light of the End.” God has privileged us to live in the last days 2000 years closer to the return of Christ than the time of the apostles. Before us lie exciting and dangerous times, as the battle between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness intensifies. I trust that this message series and the one immediately preceding it has better prepared us for the challenges that we will face in the future.

This morning, my message is entitled “The Ultimate Wedding.” We are going to look beyond the current spiritual warfare, beyond the sacrifices and martyrs of the last days, even beyond God’s cataclysmic judgments still to come. We are going to look at the end of the story and it’s a good ending, provided you are on the winning side of history.

To help us understand the end of the story, let me briefly tell you the story of the Bible in maybe a new way for you. The story of the Bible is at its heart, a love story. A love story between God and man. You see, God wanted someone to love, so in the beginning, He created people in His image. God created human beings so that He could love them and they could freely love Him back.

But an enemy came into the paradise that God had created for man. This enemy seduced the first people away from their first love and the relationship between God and man was broken. Mankind became trapped in a prison of sin from which there was no escape.

If the story has a villain, than we know a hero must come and that hero was Jesus. Jesus came to this earth to rescue His true love, the people He had created. The villain, Satan, killed Jesus, yet Jesus rose from the dead and defeated Satan. Jesus made a way for every person He loved to be rescued from the prison of sin by believing in and loving Him back.

Although, the villain has been mortally wounded, the battle rages on until the end of the last days when Jesus returns for His true love. The story of the Bible has a happy ending. Jesus and His bride get married and live happily ever after. Who is the bride of Jesus? It is the church, which consists of believers, those who love Jesus.

Ephesians 5:25b-27 (NIV)  Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her  to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,  and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Heavenly Investments Message Introduction

We’re nearing the end of our message series “Living in Light of the End.” Last week we talked about how to use worldly wealth to make forever friends. To use the resources that God has entrusted to us to help lead people to Jesus. Making forever friends is not just the task of pastors or churches per say, but of every follower of Jesus Christ.

Today my message is entitled “Heavenly Investments.” But it’s not about money at all. Although Jesus talked a lot about using the money that God has given us for the kingdom of God, today, we’re going to talk about how to invest the totality of our lives for God.

Your life is a gift from God. In fact, the life of every human being on this planet is a gift from God. Life is a gift from God whether it’s a baby in its mother’s womb or an elderly person approaching the end of life. God is the one who gives life and God is the only one who should determine when life ends. So, these lives that God has given us are His gift to us. Life is a beautiful thing, when it’s lived hand in hand with your creator. When you invest your life in serving God, nothing you do is wasted. A life invested in living for God is a life that has made an investment in eternity that will last forever. …

Today, we begin a new short message series called “Living in Light of the End.” Last Sunday we completed the series “Understanding the End Times” in which we looked at the events the Bible prophesies will happen at the end of time. Our new message series “Living in the Light of the End” will address how we should live today, here and now, having this understanding of the end times.

Bible prophesy is never intended to just give us theoretical answers to questions we may have. Bible prophesy, in fact all of the Bible, is intended to teach us how to live for Jesus here and now in the way most honoring to God.

Merry Christmas to everyone! I’m glad you’re here at Life Church to celebrate Christmas this Sunday. It’s the Christmas season, we have Christmas lights, Christmas sales, Christmas gifts, Christmas cookies, Christmas vacation, Christmas parties, Christmas cards and the list goes on and on. Christmas is a busy season for most of us. It’s easy to get so caught up in the activities of the season that we don’t take time to reflect on what Christmas is all about. So, that’s what we’re going to do this morning.

When you drive around at night looking at Christmas lights, you see lots of Santas and reindeer. You’ll see Frostie the snowman. But those aren’t what Christmas is all about. Hopefully, you’ll see a Nativity scene with a baby in a manger. Now, we’re getting closer to what Christmas is all about. That baby born 2000 years ago was named Jesus and He is the reason for the season.

So, today, we’re going to take a look at Jesus, perhaps in a way that you’ve never looked at Him before. Because Jesus is so much more than simply that baby in the manger. Today, my message is entitled “Jesus, the Alpha and Omega.” In our title slide, you can see two non-English letters, they are the letters alpha and omega from the Greek alphabet, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Greek is the language that the original documents of the New Testament were written in. Greek was the universal language of the time into which Jesus was born, like English is today.

In the last chapter of the Bible, Jesus says ….
