The Joy Strategy

We have a lot to be thankful for, both as Americans and as believers. God has truly blessed us in so many ways. Last week we begin a short message series called “Overcoming the Blues.” With a message entitled “Developing a Thankful Heart.” We learned that a thankful heart is the only proper response to God who has forgiven our sins through Jesus Christ. A thankful heart lays a firm foundation for a life of purpose and joy. …

Developing A Thankful Heart

Today, we begin a short message series called “Overcoming the Blues.” Beginning this week, we are entering the holiday season of Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is a wonderful time of year. Yet, this year the holiday season may be a time of stress and tension over financial concerns due to our slow economy for many. Sometimes, the holidays bring difficulties with relatives into focus. For others, the remembrance of close friends of relatives who are no longer with us can lead to sadness.  …

This question divides people into two camps depending on the answer they give. The question is the title of my fifth message in our GodQuest message series, “Who Is Jesus?” …

Why Is There Suffering?

Today, in our fourth message in the GodQuest series, we are going to be looking at the question “Why Is There Suffering?” We are bombarded with stories of suffering every day in the news. Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods make their share of pain and suffering. Wars, murders, drugs and other crimes are all around us every day. Health problems, diseases, aging and mental illness cause suffering for many that we know. …
